This investment was made in June 2004 and has created three new jobs. The business was set up in 1996 by Mrs Rose Shio and two other women and has been expanding steadily since. They produce high-quality shirts, cassocks and made-to-measure clothes. The shirts and dresses are in west-African style, using batik materials, which are popular for Sunday and special-occasion wear. The clothes are sold mostly from their shop in Moshi. Our investment has enabled Mrs Shio to buy a new sewing machine, an embroidery machine and a knitting machine. The business has moved to new premises and now employs six people. The extra sewing and embroidery machines means the business is producing and selling more shirts and dresses.
